Seeley International’s innovative cooling product, Climate Wizard, is continuing to work its magic – winning the only Gaia Gold Medal awarded for the Big 5 International Building and Construction Show in Dubai.
The Gaia Awards recognise green or environmentally-sound building products and services in the GCC region, reflecting the desire to ‘build green’.
Climate Wizard beat a field of 125 entrants to the gold medal, recognising the product’s ability to reduce energy use by up to 80%.
Seeley International’s Chairman and founder, Frank Seeley AM, said that Climate Wizard represented a completely new cooling category.
“This product is a breakthrough and it already starting to change the way the world looks at air conditioning,” he said.
“It’s an indirect evaporative air cooler, which means it uses only the natural process of evaporation to cool but, a unlike traditional (direct) evaporative cooler, it does not add moisture to the air during the cooling process.
“This means that Climate Wizard can deliver results on par with refrigerated systems, but at a fraction of the running costs.”
Climate Wizard can be used on its own or in conjunction with refrigerated systems to supply fresh, cool air, while reducing running costs.
Mr Seeley said that commercial Climate Wizards had already been used in a range of installations in Australia and the UK, including data centres, community centres and food processing plants. A residential model is in the final stages of field testing and will be available within two years.
