Technology

DC Inverter and DRED

DC inverter technology chart

With DC inverter technology and DRED as standard, Braemar add-on cooling provides significantly lower running costs.

All Braemar Invertair™ add-on cooling systems feature DC inverter technology. An inverter is a power conversion circuit that electronically regulates the voltage, current and frequency of an air conditioner. This circuit controls the compressor, outdoor and indoor fans, maximising the air conditioner’s efficiency.

DRED as standard
With the introduction of smart power meters (PeakSmart in QLD), the electrical supply authority can limit the amount of power to the property at certain times during extreme weather conditions, when the power supply is at peak demand, using DRED (Demand Response Enabling Device).
In some states, the power supply authorities offer financial incentives to consumers who install DRED enabled air conditioning systems. All of Braemar’s latest inverter products now come with DRED as standard.

Compared to convetional models, inverter air conditioners provides:

Signifcantly lower running costs

Quicker and finer temperature control and comfort

Elimination of temperature fluctuations

Quiet operation inside and outside the home

Frequently Asked Questions

An add-on cooling system is a reverse cycle air conditioner that works in cooling mode only. Also known as a heat pump, it works by transferring heat using a refrigeration cycle. The system extracts heat from indoor air and releases it outside, cooling the indoor space.

The size you need depends on factors like the size of the space, insulation, and climate. It's best to contact an authorised dealer who can perform a load calculation to determine the appropriate size for your specific needs.

Regular maintenance includes cleaning or replacing filters, inspecting ducts, and scheduling regular servicing annually. This helps ensure optimal performance and air quality. Please contact your local service agent to book a service.

Costs vary widely based on factors like size, installation complexity, and location. It's advisable to talk to an authorised dealer to find a solution that will suit your specific needs.
