AEC Illuminazione SRL is a manufacturer of indoor and outdoor public lighting based in Subbiano, Arezzo, Italy. With no cooling system installed, summer temperatures inside the building usually reaching 40-42 degrees Celsius, the production line was compromised, as well as the working conditions and productivity.

32 TBA Series Breezair evaporative air coolers were supplied by Italkero (official Breezair distributor for Italy) and installed on the roof of the factory building, with the aim to cool 2,000 square meters of the production area.

Since the installation, the inside temperature has been kept to a more comfortable 26-27 degrees Celsius. As a result, the working conditions were improved, allowing the company to continue its operations without letting the CNC machines to stop due to heat load.

AEC needed to control the humidity level inside the building, setting a certain level of relative humidity, since the components involved in the production are mostly electrical. Above this set point the machines would stop running with evaporation and provide ventilation only.

When asked about the water consumption and the costs saving, the production manager Mr Alessio Nuti stated “We are using the water drained from Breezair to fill up the firefighting water tank, so that we can save twice: first, using a cooling system that only uses water and low energy; second, we re-use the water, opting for a green choice and preserving the environment”.
