Frank Seeley AM, Executive Chairman and Founder of Seeley International, has been recognised for dedicating his life to Australian manufacturing, winning the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2012 Manufacturers’ Monthly Endeavour Awards, held at a glittering awards ceremony in Sydney last week.
The Lifetime Achievement Award recognises someone who has been in the manufacturing industry for more than 25 years and who has made a significant individual contribution to Australia’s manufacturing industry. Frank Seeley definitely fits the bill. Since founding Seeley International in 1972 when he began manufacturing portable evaporative coolers in his garage, Frank has grown the business to employ more than 300 people. The company has launched many innovative and world-first products, all manufactured right here in Australia. These include:
- The world’s first six star ducted gas heating range
- The world’s first non-condensing five star ducted gas heating range
- The world’s first all-plastic cooler
- The world’s first all-plastic rooftop evaporative cooler
- The world’s first large plastic centrifugal fan
- The world’s first inverter drive evaporative cooler
- The world’s first Hushpower® direct drive motor
- The world’s first and only WATERmiser™ monitor water management system
- The world’s first auto Spectrolink™ multizone independent zoning for gas central heating.
One award just didn’t seem like enough for Seeley International – the company also took home the Manufacturers’ Monthly Australian Consumer/Trade Product of the Year Award for the newly-launched Braemar six star ducted gas heating range. This is the second year in a row Seeley International has taken out this award, with its incredibly transformational Climate Wizard ultra-low-energy air conditioner winning in 2011.
The winning Braemar six star ducted gas heating range is the first in the world to break the six star energy efficiency barrier and was recognised above others for its innovation and ability to dramatically reduce energy use.
